The Moon represents our emotional response and our daily rhythms. Over time, the moon has come to represent feminine energy and is associated with fertility. It influences our moods, our relationship to our mother and what our needs are. The Moon will describe a person’s emotional reactions such as gut instincts, intuition and subconscious rhythms based on what sign it falls under and its connection with other planets in the chart. It is also associated with fate and the past. Cancer is associated with the Moon and as a water sign the rise and fall of the tides reflects its fluctuating emotional nature. It is also associated with motherhood (and fatherhood), the body and food. In Greek mythology the cycles of the Moon corresponded to the Triple Goddesses. The waning moon was linked with the virgin goddess, full moon to the mature woman in childbearing prime and waxing moon to the wise old woman.
